Happy August, guys! It’s almost time to start school, which means I have to get serious about my organization on here if I’m going to continue. Since I’m a high school teacher, my time is REALLY limited during the school year, and I want to make sure I don’t let this little hobby of mine slide. I really enjoy it, and it pushes me to get things done! This was also the first month that I really committed to blogging, so I’m interested to see how I did on my goals. Without further ado, here’s my August blogging goals and income/traffic report for July 1st-31st, 2017.
I realized while organizing pictures the other day that I’ve never shared our ‘finished’ dining room with you guys! It was one of the first rooms we worked on when we moved in, since it’s right off of the front door. The sad part is, the room really wasn’t that bad, it was just the paint. Metallic gold/green. Not the best color choice, and very unappetizing for a dining room! As a reminder, here’s what we were starting with.
Time for Stair Makeover: Chapter Three. We have stair caps! And finished risers! I’m trying to keep it real with you guys – we don’t renovate our home full time (I wish!), and life gets in the way. I didn’t get as much done this weekend as I had hoped, but that’s ok. We have SOME progress, and that’s better than no progress.
We’re 5 days into this stair makeover, and things are moving right along. All of the staples are finally gone, the nails are hammered back in, and we’re ready to lay the new flooring. And I just want to say…I think I grossly underestimated how hard this project would be with a three-month-old. I keep thinking that I’ll be able to go install a step or two, but she needs to be held/fed/burped/etc. Something tells me you just shouldn’t use a chop saw while holding an infant. 😉
Remember how I mentioned I wanted to find some cheap chairs for the backyard? Well while I was waiting to meet up with a friend for dinner, I happened to stop in Target…as one does. I was looking for a runner for our stair project and happened to walk past a display with these chairs.
They may or may not have come home with me, and now live in my backyard. It’s funny, the same thing happened at Home Goods a few months ago with a faux plant. Without further ado, here are all the details on my latest impulse buys: potted plants and patio furniture.
